Frequently asked
Are there ready-made decks?
Yes. Willys comes with a library of over 400 decks for AP and IB courses, college classes, health, finance, IT and language exams, organised by each course's outline. Browse the flashcard library and study a free sample of any deck in your browser; add the whole exam from Exam Library at the top of your Decks in the app.
Can I import my Anki decks?
Yes. Use Import File for Anki .apkg files, plus CSV and JSON, or Import from Quizlet to paste a set you exported from Quizlet. You can also export your decks back out — your cards are never locked in.
Does the AI send my notes to the cloud?
No. Deck generation runs entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence. Your PDFs and notes are processed locally and never sent to us or any third party. AI features require a device that supports Apple Intelligence.
What are cloze and image occlusion cards?
Cloze cards hide a word or phrase inside a sentence so you recall it in context — "The mitral valve sits between the left atrium and the left ventricle." Image occlusion does the same for pictures: drop in a diagram, map or slide, draw boxes over the labels you need to know, and Willys makes one card per box. Anatomy, histology, geography and circuit diagrams were made for this. Both card types use the same spaced-repetition schedule as everything else.
Can I turn a deck into a practice test?
Yes. Any deck can become a multiple-choice quiz or a timed mock test. Set a length and a time limit, sit it like the real thing, then review exactly which questions you missed so your next study session starts there.
Do cards support formulas, images and audio?
Yes. Cards are Markdown, with around 60 LaTeX-style symbols (σ, x², ∫) for maths, physics and statistics, plus images on either side and audio recordings for pronunciation. The ready-made STEM decks render their formulas the same way.
How do I know whether it's working?
Insights shows your retention curve, a forecast of upcoming reviews, daily goals and streaks, so you can see what's sticking and what needs another pass — per deck or across everything you study.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There's no sign-up, login or password. Download the app and start studying; your subscription is tied to your Apple ID, so it follows you to every device.
Which devices does Willys run on?
iPhone, iPad, and Mac — it's a true universal app, and one subscription covers all of them. Optional iCloud sync keeps every device on the same page.
What happens after the 14-day trial?
The trial opens the entire app. If Willys isn't for you, cancel in two taps before the trial ends and you won't be charged. Otherwise it's $14.99 per year, billed through your Apple ID.
What is FSRS, and why should I care?
FSRS-4.5 is a modern spaced-repetition scheduler built on a large-scale model of human memory. Compared with older algorithms it reaches the same retention with noticeably fewer reviews. Prefer the classic? SM-2 is one toggle away.
Do you see my study data?
No. Willys has no accounts and we operate no servers that receive your content — cards stay on your devices and, if you enable sync, in your personal iCloud. Details in our privacy policy.
